The Busk EP - Various Artists - Vinyl
The Busk
On a cold dark night in late december 2021 a group of musicians, poets & filmmakers gathered in a St Patrick's Catherdral stronghold.
They came together to use their voices, talents and skills for those who need it most at a time when performing on the street, as is tradition, was not possible.
The busk has been a sacred tradition for over a decade now, where on christmas eve irish musicians, poets and thinkers come together to raise money for the homeless. It is a humanitarian call for change, a change which is so desperately needed still.
Dublin Simon Community
Dublin Simon Community works to combat and prevent homelessness in Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare, Meath, Louth, Cavan and Monaghan.
Our organisation was set up as a humble soup run by a group of trinity and UCD students in 1969, who founded the organisation on the basis of community, respect, inclusion and non-judgement.
Over the past 50 years, these founding values have continued to drive our work in providing low-threshold access to wraparound support services for people from all walks of life and all stages of homelessness to try to make home a reality and close the door on homelessness for good.
