Product DescriptionIn the spring of 1962 the Beatles were heroes in Liverpool, but their first ever radio session was recorded in Manchester. One evening in March they performed three cover versions, which were broadcast on the BBC's Light Programme the following afternoon. Three months later - just after their first EMI session - they appeared on the same show, this time performing a Lennon-McCartney original, Ask Me Why - the first of their songs to be broadcast. By then, drummer Pete Best's days with the group were numbered, making the recordings presented here a fascinating time capsule. Pressed on Black 10" Vinyl at 45rpm, with a 2pp full colour insert, all housed in a hand-numbered flip back sleeve. Background notes and images are included.About the ArtistJohn Lennon - vocals, rhythm guitar, harmonica; Paul McCartney - vocals, bass; George Harrison - vocals, lead guitar; Pete Best - drums, vocals.
