Last year this legendary progressive Irish duo released their first new studio album in 42 years, The Dark Dance, which was launched at the equally legendary music venue, the Half Moon, Putney. Mega Dodo was there to capture their performance which mixed Tir na nOg classics with new songs from their Dark Dance album. Tir na nOg have been described as Alt Folk, Prog Folk, Psych Folk, and even Space Folk! But the duo, formed by Leo OKelly & Sonny Condell in 1970, transcends all these categories. What is not in doubt is that they are two of the most original and influential songwriters and performers Ireland has ever produced. Songs like Condells Two White Horses , and OKelly s Looking Up , both of which are featured on Live At The Half Moon, are as good as anything Ireland s produced in the past four decades.
