This 180 gram red virgin vinyl LP reissue of the 1958 Bluenote album Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers includes two bonus tracks recorded live at the Olympia, Paris with the same personnel, also in 1958. Together with Art Blakey on drums the line-up includes Lee Morgan on trumpet, Benny Golson on tenor saxophone, Bobby Timmons on piano and Jymie Merritt on bass . The specially prepared liner notes are by Penguin Guide to Jazzs writer Brian Morton and by Frances prestigious Jazz Magazine.
