Snips - Edits Vol. 2 - [Vinyl]

London club staple, Livin' Proof co Founder and NYC trasnplant Snips delves back into Edit territory for his second installment of the "Snips Edits" series and 4th release on his own Barbershop Records. This time around Snips turns some Hip Hop classics into club ready anthems over his original productions heavily reliant on the decon/reconstruction of the samples used in the original tracks. For the A side Snips keeps it firmly in house territory kicking things off with a nod to Mr West, delving into the original sample sources for a few of his more well known recent attempts at reviving some Chicago club classics, followed by equally as impressove Da Bush Babess and De La Soul flips. Snips slows things down on the B side with 50 Cent, Freeway and Nas getting the Hip Hop Remix treatment, switching the approach to using multiple original samples from different records from each artist. A varied project in style but also one of the more creative standouts in the edit and remix world. A must have for DJs and sample nerds alike.
