Battalions. A call to arms was placed in January 2010, members required for a heavy as sin riff centred band in the arrse end of Yorkshire, Hull. That call was answered and Battalions was born. A mutual love of Black Sabbath, Weedeater, Iron Monkey, Clutch, Status Quo and Thin Lizzy brought Battalions together, the music they make encompasses this and a whole lot more. The early years saw a few line-up changes, with original drummer Kristian Barford leaving the band after the recording of the first E.P Tested on Convicts , and Andrew Halfdeaf McLatchie leaving after the recording of the second E.P Warnings Have Been Issued . Matt Walker replaced Barford on the drums and has been with the band ever since and Mark Wood replacing Clatch and staying with the band for the Nothing to Lose album, until just after the recording of Moonburn . The line-up now consists of original and long-term members: Phil Wilkinson Vocals / Pete Cross Guitar / Matt Dennett Bass / Matt Walker Drums - Battalions have stayed as a 4 piece since then, playing shows up and down the country and writing the follow up to Moonburn 'Forever Marching Backwards' due out later this year on Battalions new home of APF Records. 2018 also saw Battalions longest tour to date, playing 9 shows around the UK with labelmates Pist, and tours already booked around the release of the album, a slot at Hammerfest XI and a European tour in the works for spring of 2019, things are only looking up for Battalions from here on out! Track listing: Forever Marching Backwards; Cities Of Ruin; Goat Feeder; Vaseline (G)Love; Tyskie Vampire; Infinite Void; Brick Hole; Devil's Footsteps
