She is the daughter of Ted and Teresa Richards, stars of the underground comics revolution and the goddaughter of legendary cartoonist Robert Crumb. In the beginning Kirk Hammett of Metallica taught Richards a few songs on guitar and then she went on to work with Joe Firstman, Suzanne Vega, Tim Burgess, Tricky, Good Listeners and the Jesus and Mary Chain.
